We are developing a Hi-Quality system that has a replaceable scraper blade. In most cases the blade is the part which will fail, so why not re-use the handle? Our main requirement when designing this product was to have a high quality handle and tool holder made of typical tool materials. The blade is designed to be easily interchangeable, or replaceable by the means of two hex head screws with a simple hex wrench.

This shows our process from sketch models to realistic Epoxy based SLA 3D printed prototypes. Sketch models quickly help us determine basic sizes, shapes and volumes of the products we design.

Further refined quick mock-up prototypes testing sizes, forms and different types of foam. At this stage we can begin to test functionality with moving around sand in a sandbox, which we built in our office. Fun!

We thought leather might be a good material to use instead of plastic and foam. We tried many prototypes and combinations but didn't reach the quality level we anticipated, so we documented our failed results and moved on
